My background

I have been fascinated with the human mind and body for decades. As an undergraduate at UC Davis, I studied physiology from the cellular level to the systemic level. I learned how the nervous system transforms chemical messages into electrical impulses that facilitate the rapid transmission of information we rely on for thought.

I was fortunate enough to study medicine at UCSF Medical School which is consistently ranked within the top five American medical schools for both their clinical and research programs. I was fascinated with Psychiatry, earning honors in both my preclinical and advanced clinical coursework.

I continued learning about the brain body interface at Stanford where I completed my Psychiatry Residency in 2000.

Since 2000, I have seen patients in private practice and taught Stanford Psychiatry Residents as part of the Stanford Adjunct Clinical Faculty.

I am uniquely poised to see the benefits and limitations of traditional western medicine treatments of Psychological and Psychiatric conditions. I actively prescribe medications, work with people in psychotherapy and have added Neurofeedback and Biofeedback to my practice since I realized their powerful treatment potential.

I feel so privileged to work with the amazing people that I see. I believe that we are wired to heal and that each individual has unique gifts and challenges that they bring to our treatment partnership. My mission is to understand you as a unique person and provide you with the treatment strategies to achieve your full potential.
